Jean Höfler

Jean Höfler (West Germany)
During the 1960s and ’70s, Jean Höfler released a wide variety of ~3-inch plastic vehicles, made in West Germany and sold across Europe in toy shops, gumball machines, and discount bins. These lightweight models included cars, trucks, buses, and construction equipment — often unbranded, but surprisingly detailed.

Unlike many budget toy makers, Höfler also produced a few **licensed models**, including a recognizable **Volkswagen T2 van**, complete with correct proportions and detailing. While still molded in plastic, these vehicles stood out for their realism within the low-cost toy market.

Today, Höfler’s plastic vehicles reflect a charming slice of everyday 20th-century transport — from fantasy trucks to real European classics.
