Artur HAMMER (Lüdenscheid, Germany)
These vintage plastic models were produced in the 1950s by Artur HAMMER, a manufacturer based in Lüdenscheid — once a major center of German plastic toy production. Today, brands like Siku still carry that legacy. These small cars, often called “Groschenautos”, were named after their low price at the time.
Despite being affordable, they were surprisingly refined for their era: fully glazed, detailed, and marked. Smaller than today’s 3-inch standard, they offer a nostalgic glimpse into post-war German toy design.
